Before Using Ciprofloxacin
* Inform your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are allergic to any prescription or non-prescription medicine; taking other medicines or have other medical problems; pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding. * Check with your Doctor, Pharmacists, or Nurse if information in this leaflet causes you special concern or if you want additional information about your medicine and its use. * Inform your doctor if you have any of these conditions : KIDNEY DISEASE; EPILEPSY; CATARACTS.
Common Uses For Ciprofloxacin
1- For the treatment of URINARY TRACT INFECTION 2- For the treatment of ACUTE LOWER RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS 3- For the treatment of BONE INFECTIONS (OSTEOMYELITIS, PERIOSTITIS, ETC.) 4- For the treatment of LOCAL INFECTIONS OF SKIN AND SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE 5- For the treatment of TYPHOID FEVER 6- For the treatment of INFECTIOUS DIARRHEA 7- For the treatment of GONOCOCCAL INFECTIONS 8- For the treatment of ANTHRAX, UNSPECIFIED It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor
How To Use Ciprofloxacin
Use Ciprofloxacin exactly as directed on the label, unless instructed differently by your doctor * SHAKE suspension well before using. * This medicine can be taken with or without food, REGARDLESS of meal times. If stomach upset occurs, take with food. * DO NOT take ANTACIDS containing magnesium or aluminum, or preparations containing iron or zinc within four hours of taking Ciprofloxacin. * This medicine should be taken WITH a full glass of water (6-8oz). * DO NOT give to infants, children, or teenagers unless directed by your doctor. Safety in children less than 18 years of age has not been established. * Use Ciprofloxacin for the full prescribed treatment period. DO NOT skip doses or discontinue unless directed by your doctor. * Notify physician if symptoms do not improve, or if they become worse.
What To Do If You Miss A Dose
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
How To Store Ciprofloxacin
Keep in original closed container in a dark, cool, and dry place away from children. Discard unneeded medicine.

Other Side Effects
Nausea; Abdominal discomfort or pain; Vomiting; Diarrhea; Skin rash; Headache; Drowsiness; Dizziness; Inflammation of the vagina; Visual disturbances; Sleepiness; Increased sensitivity to sunlight; Insomnia; Unusual tiredness or weakness; Jitteriness; Gas; Indigestion; Constipation.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome, check with your doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE, CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
Precautions And Warnings
* Safety of use during pregnancy has not been established. This medicine SHOULD NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY unless benefit justifies potential risk to the fetus. CALL YOUR DOCTOR. * STOP TAKING MEDICINE & GET EMERGENCY HELP IMMEDIATELY IF A HYPERSENSITIVITY OR ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION occurs: (see symptoms below):- * shortness of breath, fast or irregular breathing, fever, joint pain, fast pulse, lightheadedness or fainting, swelling of face, hives, & itching. * This medicine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. DO NOT drive or operate machinery until you become familiar with its effects. * This medicine may cause increased sensitivity to the sun. You should AVOID prolonged or excessive exposure to direct and/or artificial sunlight.
